Set against the backdrop of a fictional blackout, The Burning Candle recalls a series of power cuts during the winter of 1995. Moving between fragments of personal history, literature, and sensory memory, it traces a path through circular time. It returns again and again to the candle’s flame as a fragile thread; a point of departure for memory, imagination, and the layered ways in which we remember.
